Euroflor Meadow Makers – Banchory Golf Club

The Rigby Taylor area representative Andy Menmuir visited Banchory Golf Club to train and instruct my staff on the correct method of how to create the proper seed bed and the broadcasting of Euroflor flower seeds.

The training area was a recently constructed banking outside the new maintenance facility, made up with 80% stone!! The Euroflor, Rainbow Annual mixture was seeded in late September and basically left alone. Germination of the seed appeared and the shoots reached to 3” and then we were hit with the worst winter for a decade; cold spring… well, NO spring if truth be told but still we got a small display early on!!

Clearly the training paid off as this year, greenkeeping staff managed to produce an excellent display so far using Rainbow annual mixture. The only problem encountered this year has been the lack of poppies from the spring sowing, however, information received from Howard Wood indicated that this was probably due to the very hot temperature we had directly after sowing.

I’d thoroughly recommend these products to any golf course, park and road side verge that needs a bit of colour but would say…. “do the training and ask the questions “ as it’s not just a case of broadcasting seed on the ground.
